Every year on November 16, Tajikistan celebrates “President's Day of the Republic of Tajikistan”, which is a national holiday.
This date became an official holiday on April 15, 2016, when by the decision of the Parliament of the country it was included in the list of public holidays of the Republic (it is not a day off).
The authority of the Head of State as the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation among the political leaders of the region is very high. For us, the Tajik people, he is considered a historical figure and the savior of the Tajik state and nation.
Thanks to the personal initiative and efforts of President Emomali Rahmon, the senseless fratricidal war was stopped, the ethnic separation of the Tajik people was stopped, about one million refugees returned to their historical homeland, the disintegration of the Tajik state was prevented, and the territorial integrity of the country was preserved. The idea of peace and national harmony put forward by Emomali Rahmon has found broad support from all nations and nationalities living in our republic. Under his leadership and with the full support of guarantor countries and influential international organizations, the “General Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and National Accord in Tajikistan” was signed on June 27, 1997.
The celebration of the President's Day of the Republic of Tajikistan takes place not as a celebration of the personality of the Head of State, but as one of the state holidays, such as State Flag Day, Independence Day, etc. The establishment of this holiday is intended to emphasize the important role played by the Head of State, taking into account the popularity and support he enjoys among the majority of the country's population. His peacekeeping activities have been repeatedly recognized with state awards, as well as awards from foreign powers that have recognized and appreciated the efforts of the President of Tajikistan to establish and maintain peace in the region.
In accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan is simultaneously the Head of State, the guarantor of human and civil rights and freedoms, national independence, unity and territorial integrity, continuity and durability of the state, coordinated functioning and interaction of state bodies, compliance with international treaties of Tajikistan.
It should be recalled that on November 16, thematic events, exhibitions of artists and photographers dedicated to the activities of Emomali Rakhmon as Head of State are held in libraries, exhibition halls and educational institutions of the country. On this day, political figures of Tajikistan meet with officers and rank-and-file personnel of the Armed Forces, as well as the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country, holding solemn patriotic events.
Today we are happy to celebrate the Day of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, who devoted his entire life to ensuring peace and stability in our country, decent life of our citizens and bright future of our state. In turn, our task is to contribute to the development of our beloved Motherland as a sign of respect and loyalty to our President.
